The spectators for this year’s FIA World Endurance Championship round at Spa Francorchamps, will experience two very different hydrogen cars.
The Belgian track will have both the H24 car, which is developed by MissionH24, and the Alpine Alpenglow, which is developed by the French car manufacturer.
While the H24 has fuel cell technology, i.e. turning it into power and then driving some electrical motors, the Alpenglow has an internal combustion engine, which is fueled by hydrogen. This is the world debut of the brand new car, which previously has been shown as a concept at the end of 2022 at the Paris Motor Show.

The LMPH2G model made its debut at Spa Francorchamps in September 2018, where it ran the first laps infront of an audience. One year later, it competed in the two Michelin Le Mans Cup practice sessions prior to the race itself. The H24, the successor, had its race debut at Imola in 2022, as a part of the Michelin Le Mans Cup round there.
Both the LMPH2G and H24 models have been shown at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and having done several laps prior to the big race itself, as well as at the Goodwood Revival in 2022.
The Alpine Alpenglow will be revealed to the public on 10 May, while both cars will do some demonstration laps prior to the 6 Hours of Spa Francorchamps FIA WEC round on 11 May 2024.
